The Skybus is late!

I was playing around with a sunset photo I had taken, when I got the idea for a planet similar to Earth, populated with humanoid type creatures who find something to grumble about regardless of the situation. Their conversation might go something like:

I can’t believe it Zhrikplatth, that’s the third time this Dasnuba that the skyhop has been late.

Keep your veins in, Krryp, at least we can enjoy another methane sunset while we wait.
comments and suggestions for improvements are welcome -thanks

The Clakkerbots Arrive

Zurp and Plip hold hands nervously as they wait their turn to be shipped into one of the giant Clakkerpod transports. Just below them the tinhead babies play, unconcerned at the drama unfolding in around them. They too must leave this polluted world and journey to new uncharted lands.

I did a pencil concept sketch of the main Clakkerbot, scanned it then completed the image in Painter. I welcome all constructive comments. Thanks all you creative wizards out there.

Three Friends cross the Atlip Desert

this image started life as a pencil sketch and evolved from there and was completed in Painter

The Double-mouthed sailtail generously tows his companion, Blockhead, across the Atlip desert. Blockhead shields Gorff from the watchful eye of the ever hungry Zylap. Their trusty, but aging pumpkin droid, brings up the rear.

All constructive comments are most welcome - I need to improve. Thanks.

Creature in Repose

What seems to be the problem, chief? “Nothing serious sir, we just seemed to have snagged the nets on something, we should be able to clear them soon…” The fishing trawler, Schnarly, inadvertantly awakens an ancient subterranean lava gobbler.

I was after the simultaneous view of objects above and below the surface water level.

I have been trying unsuccessfully for about a year to get images accepted for one of Ballistic's fantastic books. I am not sure how far I am from the cutoff point or what I need to consider in my compostions, use of colour, etc, to improve, so any advice you creative wizards could give would be great.

Thanks Tom

Swisher did not agree with the council and ignoring their findings, decided to free the Crozog and her cub. After all, what harm could there really be. Old Whisper face in the council probably made up most of what he had heard anyway…

I was playing with pencil concept sketches of vistas monsters and high speed movement, when this image took shape. I loved “Flip McCoy the Rocket boy”, as a child and Swisher was inspired by my early memories of this boy with a rocket belt.

The Chief's Wife

I took a photo of a log in a forest near home and "sculpted" the Chief's wife from it using Painter. I wanted to create a sense of a sad but proud chieftan's wife. Sculptors in Africa create carvings like these over countless hours and mostly sell them for a pittance to bargaining tourists. Hence the sad look as it reflects a proud culture doing what it can in the modern world to survive.
